VHS draws positive balance at the start of the semester

Two weeks after the start of registration for the new semester of the Adult Education Center Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg, there are 2,235 registrations. "A positive balance", as the VHS communicates. Many courses started currently. Also single meetings, seminars and Workshops, which are scheduled over the term, are in good demand. Registrations are possible on an ongoing basis at www.vhs-bocholt.de .

Language courses are popular

The range of language courses on offer is very popular, with not only popular languages such as English, French, Spanish and Dutch in demand, but also Greek and Danish. Those still looking for something for health and fitness will have to react quickly, because some of the yoga, Pilates and gymnastics courses are already fully booked. The cooking evenings at the Rhede branch, with topics such as "Baking with Primal Grains" or "Lust auf Genuss," are also among the events that are in particularly high demand. In the expanded area of "Education for Sustainable Development," the Greenpeace lecture "Natural Wonder Earth" and the lecture "Photovoltaics and Heat Pumps - The Private Energy Turnaround" are among the most requested events.

"Bocholt liest" - remaining tickets for September 2 at the box office

From the established event series "Bocholt reads" some readings are already almost fully booked. The series starts on September 2 with a special highlight, which is also the official opening of the semester, when the author and 1 LIVE presenter Mona Ameziane presents her book "Auf Basidis Dach". The event will take place in the auditorium of the Städtische Gesamtschule, and tickets are still available at the box office.

German and integration courses expanded

A clearly increased demand registers the VHS up-to-date within the range of the German and integration courses and accordingly the offer extended. Eight low-threshold German courses for beginners have just started. There are still a few places to be filled, and entry is possible until September 9. In addition, three new integration courses sponsored by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) have begun, adding to the nine already in progress. To participate, interested parties should make an appointment by phone for personal counseling and assessment. Naturalization tests will be held on Oct. 27 and Dec. 15, and a German exam with Certificate B1 will be held on Dec. 10, 2022. For both, personal registration is required at the VHS office.

A look at the VHS program is worthwhile

"In general, not all courses start right away in the first week of the semester," says Susanne Paus of the VHS. Workshops, seminars, lectures and study trips, bicycle tours and hikes can also be found spread over the next weeks and months. Thus there is up-to-date still a facet-rich selection at offers and many registration possibilities. It is worthwhile to take the program again to the hand. Who orients itself on-line over the VHS homepage(www.vhs-bocholt.de), can see at the same time, where there are still free places. Alternatively, personal consultation is possible at the VHS office, Stenernerweg 14a, or by phone on 02871 - 953 697.
