Mayoral election in Bocholt goes to a run-off vote
Participation possible by postal vote, at the electoral office or at the polling station
On Sunday, 28 September 2025, the people of Bocholt will once again be called to the polls. A run-off election will decide who will take over the office of mayor in the future. The two candidates standing for election are Thomas Kerkhoff (CDU) and Christian Mangen (SPD, City Party, FDP).
The city of Bocholt would like to point out that it is possible to vote by post, at the electoral office or at the polling station. Anyone who applied for postal voting documents for the local elections on 14 September and chose the option to vote by post for the run-off election will automatically receive their voting documents in the coming days. These can be returned by post at short notice or posted in the letterbox at Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße 52-58.
Citizens who have already cast their vote in advance at the electoral office at Mariengymnasium (Schleusenwall 1) can choose between postal voting by post or casting their vote again on site.
If no postal vote has been applied for, it is still possible to vote at the electoral office at Mariengymnasium until Friday, 26 September at 3 pm. Alternatively, eligible voters can go to their local polling station on election Sunday between 8 am and 6 pm.
Lost your polling card?
It is also possible to vote without a polling card. In this case, a valid photo ID, such as an identity card, passport or driving licence, is required. Votes can be cast either at the polling station on election Sunday between 8 am and 6 pm or directly at the electoral office until Friday, 26 September 2025 (by 3 pm).
The results of the run-off election will be published on the City of Bocholt's website www.bocholt.de/wahlen on the evening of 28 September 2025.
