Online survey: name wanted for new open-air hall

Submit a proposal from 30 July to 31 August and win a swimming pool voucher

A municipal open-air hall is being built on the South-West Sports Centre. What name should it bear in the future? The citizens of Bocholt can now have their say. The city administration is launching a naming competition.

From 30 July to the end of August, proposals can be submitted via the participation portal at www.bocholt.de/umwelt-und-bauen/stadtentwicklung/buergerbeteiligung.

Creativity is called for: a concise, original name is sought for the open-air hall that is currently under construction. A jury consisting of representatives of the city of Bocholt as the owner and the project sponsor TuB Bocholt 1907 e.V. will then choose the winning name from the submitted name suggestions.

Taking part is worthwhile: the winner will receive a voucher for the "Bahia" leisure pool as a thank you.

General information on the project

A multifunctional open-air hall with roofed sports, play and exercise elements is being built on the former tennis court in the city's South-West Sports Centre (TuB Bocholt sports facility), which can be used free of charge. In addition to a partially open multifunctional hall with covered sports and exercise areas, the hall will also have a covered playground in the future. A play area and a calisthenics facility are planned for the outdoor area.

The offer of this sports and play facility, which is unique in Bocholt so far, is aimed at children and young people in the city area as well as teams and groups of the sports club TuB Bocholt and other sports clubs and youth organisations.

After completion, the hall itself can be used during the opening hours of the neighbouring, club-run sports centre ("Sport-Gesundheits-Zentrum"). The general regulations for municipal playgrounds apply to the outdoor playground with regard to opening hours and use.

The construction, carried out by the project executing organisation TuB Bocholt 1907 e.V., is financed by municipal funds and subsidies from the federal government and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia within the framework of the funding programme "Investment Pact for the Promotion of Sports Facilities".
