Neighbourhood assistance marketplace: next event on 15 May

Information provided by the city of Bocholt // Venue: Pfarrheim St.-Georg

Following the successful launch in January and February, the City of Bocholt's senior citizens' office is now continuing the "Marktplatz Nachbarschaftshilfe" event series. The next event will take place on Thursday, 15 May 2025 at 5 p.m. in the St. Georg parish hall.

Senior citizens with a care degree and interested neighbourhood helpers are cordially invited to get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere and make appointments for neighbourhood help.

"In spring, there were many "matches" and positive feedback from senior citizens and their relatives, who would not have found any support without the event," reports Head of Division Christian Tewiele. "Since then, many senior citizens have received support from volunteer neighbourhood helpers week after week."

What is the Neighbourhood Help Marketplace?

The aim of "Marktplatz Nachbarschaftshilfe" is to bring together senior citizens with a care degree who are looking for support in their everyday lives with committed volunteers. Whether shopping, going for a walk, doing household chores or visiting the doctor - there are many ways to provide support.

Neighbourhood help is financed by the care insurance fund's relief amount, so there are no additional costs for senior citizens. Neighbourhood helpers receive a tax-free allowance of up to 131 euros per month and person supported.
