The city of Bocholt continues to make progress with the digital equipment of its schools. This year alone, around 200 digital boards have been installed at 18 school locations, 50 of which were installed during the last autumn holidays.
In addition, the city of Bocholt has now issued almost 3,800 tablets to pupils and teachers.
In cooperation with Bocholter Energie- und Wasserversorgung (BEW), an opportunity has also been created for pupils to use their devices for school purposes while travelling. The devices can be used free of charge and without further registration in the BEW WLAN hotspots.
"For example, if you meet up with your study group in Bocholt city centre, you can use BEW's broadband internet free of charge", says Hany Omar, Head of Digital and IT.
About the digital boards
The digital whiteboards that have been installed at the school sites in Bocholt make it easier to use digital learning content in the classroom. They essentially consist of a Windows PC, a touch display and fold-out whiteboard elements. With the help of the boards, teachers can use digital media to organise their lessons. The digital whiteboards were procured with funding from the DigitalPakt Schule programme.
