German and Dutch school classes take part in obstacle race

On Tuesday, June 14, students from Bocholt's secondary schools and from schools near the border in the Netherlands will take part in the "Euregional Team Run 2022," an obstacle course that primarily requires teamwork. 20 starting places have been allocated to class groups from a wide range of schools, but short-notice classes can still enter and register by e-mail christoph.hahn(at)bkbocholt-west(dot)eu or phone 01523-1817616.

Organizer

The Berufskolleg Bocholt-West, the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf, the city of Bocholt with the project Zukunftsstadt as well as the TUB Bocholt in cooperation with the Grafschap College from Doetinchem organize this run in the style of the different media known "mud runs". After a Corona forced break, the run can now be held again after its debut in 2019.

Route

On a 5-kilometer course around the sports facilities of the TUB Bocholt and around the local recreation area Mosse, the class groups will prove their dexterity, coordination and teamwork skills every 400-500 meters at nine stations. The stations have been developed by students from the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences and do not focus on the athletic strength of the individual. Only through good teamwork can the required tasks be successfully completed.

The idea of this run is to combine the fun of movement with team building, according to the organizers. It is not only the time that counts, but above all the shared experience.

Prizes

Once all participants of a team have crossed the finish line, the time is stopped. The fastest team wins and further prizes are raffled among the participant groups, among others for the best costume. In addition to "private" cinema screenings for the class at the Kinodrom, there are also free tickets for the Bahia, trips to the Ninja Hall or bouldering hall "Kraftraum" to be won. The prizes will be raffled among the active participants and will not only benefit the fastest teams.

Sports and career guidance

On June 14, 2022, there will not only be running. The sports facility of TUB Bocholt will be filled with life by other partners according to the future city motto "Moving Bocholt". In addition to the run, there are opportunities to do sports on site. In addition to the soccer, volleyball and tennis courts, space will be created especially for trend sports such as spike ball, ultimate frisbee, archery. In addition, there will be opportunities to learn about one's professional future. In addition to representatives of the Chamber of Crafts, the Employment Agency will also be present and will be able to offer students informal advice.

The home economics department of the Berufskolleg Bocholt-West will take care of the physical well-being and focus on the topic of health around the run.
