Advent concert of the music school for the 1st Advent

Sunday, November 27, 2022, 5 p.m., Christuskirche Bocholt // Admission free

On Sunday, December 27, 2022, the Music School Bocholt-Isselburg organizes a concert with selected ensembles. It starts at 5 pm in the Christuskirche (Münsterstraße 19). Admission is free.

Five ensembles from the Bocholt-Isselburg Music School are looking forward to their concert on Advent 1. "Over 50 music students aged 5 to 13 have been rehearsing a varied program over the past few weeks," reports Bocholt's music school director Claudia Borgers. Christmas carols from all over the world are as much a part of the repertoire as classical and modern works from various eras.

The Advent concert will be opened by the Ministreichern and the Streicherbande, staffed by the youngest string players of the music school, each under the direction of music school teacher Christiane Schröder. The two ensembles will be accompanied by music school teacher Karl-Heinz Höper on the piano. Also taking part in the concert is a cello trio. The trio is currently preparing for the "Jugend musiziert" competition, which will take place in Heek in January.

The recorder ensemble and a recorder trio, each under the direction of Theres Kommescher, will play pieces from the 16th to the 21st century (Renaissance music, Mozart and Pink Panther) in the second half of the concert.

At the concert's conclusion, all performers will make music together, giving the audience a glimpse into the versatility of the music school's ensemble work. Admission is from 16:30.
