11 music students from Bocholt travel to the regional "Jugend musiziert" competition
On 28 January in Heek // The students are well prepared
Pupils from the Bocholt-Isselburg Music School will take part in the 60th "Jugend musiziert" competition again this year. The regional competition "Westmünsterland" for the districts of Borken, Coesfeld and Wesel (right of the Rhine) will take place next Saturday, 28 January 2023, at the Landesmusikakademie in Heek-Nienborg.
In the category "Chamber Music with String Instruments", 11 pupils from Bocholt will perform their pieces, selected together with their teachers, to an expert jury at this year's regional competition in Heek. Two of the four participating chamber music groups have the same instruments (one violoncello, one violin), two other chamber music groups have mixed instruments (violin, viola and violoncello).
The musicians are being prepared for the competition and will be accompanied on Saturday by teachers Prisak Strümpfel, Gabriele Nußberger and Christiane Schröder.
In the past weeks, the pupils have already shown their skills in various music-making lessons and additional rehearsals, thus preparing themselves optimally for the upcoming competitions. Some of the pupils are already taking part in the competition for the second time. But also very young instrumentalists are taking part again. They are gaining their first competition experience.
"Participating in the competition is a great experience for the pupils," explains music school director Claudia Borgers. Participation is only possible through committed parents and teachers, she adds.
"Especially the experience of playing together with others helps young musicians to develop further," adds music school teacher Christiane Schroeder, who, together with other teachers, prepares the pupils for the competition. "Practice hard, do your best and, above all, stay healthy," says Schroeder, motivating her students during the dress rehearsal.
