Exhibition "Sustainable Building and Infrastructure" at the Stadtsparkasse extended

Gemeente Winterswijk is making the exhibition available free of charge // Exhibition opening well attended

The exhibition "Sustainable Building and Infrastructure", which opened on 4 March, is on loan from Gemeente Winterswijk and was produced as part of the European Green Leaf Award. The exhibition can be seen in the customer hall of the Stadtsparkasse until 2 April.

Winterswijk received the European Green Leaf Award in 2022, an award for cities with up to 100,000 inhabitants that plan and implement special climate protection measures and apply for the award. As part of this award, the Gemeente Winterswijk has produced this exhibition and is lending it to interested towns in the surrounding area.

The exhibition has been on display in Bocholt since 4 March and was opened with lectures and a discussion. In his presentation, Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff talked about the sustainable measures taken as part of the town hall refurbishment, such as the ventilation concept and heat recovery. He also presented the Markt 8 project, mobility, climate protection and biodiversity as well as other topics.

Arjan Klein-Nibbelink from Winterswijk, who played a key role in the conception of the exhibition, travelled from Winterswijk to attend the opening of the exhibition. He explained the themes surrounding the exhibition to those present.

The presentations were followed by an extensive Q&A session on the topics, such as the costs of sustainable construction. The expert from Winterswij, Klein-Nibbelink, emphasised that when it comes to sustainability, new scientific findings must always be flexibly taken into account.

Due to the topicality of the subject, the exhibition will be extended until 2 April.
