Sustainability Award 2026: Bocholt is looking for sustainable ideas
Award for sustainable projects // Applications possible until 31 December 2025
Sustainability needs courage, ideas and, above all, people who take action. That is why the city of Bocholt is calling on all citizens, associations, companies and initiatives to apply for the Bocholt Sustainability Award 2026.
Every two years, Bocholt honours projects that are not only innovative, but also pioneering for more sustainability. Whether in the fields of ecology, economy or social affairs - projects are sought that combine at least two of these fields. Applications can be sent informally by email to nachhaltigkeitspreis(at)bocholt(dot)de until 31 December.
Purpose of the Sustainability Award
"Strengthening the regional sustainability of our city can only succeed together", emphasises Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff. With the Sustainability Award, the city of Bocholt is consciously sending out a signal of appreciation for all the great local initiatives. "We hope that the award-winning projects will motivate many more people to get involved," he adds.
Sascha Terörde from the City of Bocholt's Climate Protection Department is also convinced: "The Sustainability Award makes the commitment of our citizens, companies and associations visible. Together, we are shaping a liveable and sustainable future for Bocholt."
Selection process
A jury from politics, administration, science, media and the main sponsor selects the award winners. And it's worth it: the first prize is endowed with 5,000 euros - sponsored by Bocholter Energie- und Wasserversorgung GmbH.
Last year, a total of 24 applications were received, with the first prize going to Büngern-Technik with their product "Cera Lights". The city of Bocholt is now once again inviting people to submit projects, make Bocholt more sustainable and become part of the movement for a better future!
