City cycling in Bocholt: Almost 200,000 kilometres cycled so far

Already in the first week of this year's "Stadtradeln" campaign, almost 200,000 kilometres were reported for Bocholt. More than 2,100 active cyclists are taking part in the campaign for Bocholt - that is significantly more than in previous years.

What do the "sunshine-cyclists", the "cool snails", "the fantastic 8" and the "racing oldies" have in common? They are all teams participating in this year's STADTRADELN campaign for Bocholt. As in previous years, the cyclists of Bocholt are again showing a lot of creativity in finding names. "The people of Bocholt have collected a lot of kilometres right from the start," says Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff. Now it's time to "stick with it and keep participating", says Kerkhoff.

Almost 200,000 kilometres have already been cycled by over 2140 active Bocholt city cyclists who have joined 369 teams - but there is still more to come! There is a consensus that Bocholt wants to be at the top of the winners' podium nationwide this year.

The cyclists from Liebfrauen are currently at the top, followed by the Mariengymnasium team, the Sportfreunde Lowick team and the city council. It is easy to take part via www.bocholt.de/stadtradeln.

Nationwide campaign

The nationwide campaign "STADTRADELN- GEMEINSAMEL FÜR EIN GUTES KLIMA" has been running in Bocholt since 1 May and will continue until 21 May. Cycled kilometres can still be entered in the following week.

This year, great prizes will be raffled among all those who have cycled more than 150 km in Bocholt. The prizes are a travel voucher of your choice worth 1000 euros and a balcony power station in the same price category. Both prizes were provided by local sponsors.

And even those who have cycled less than 150 kilometres in the course of the three weeks can win: Three vouchers for the Biomarkt Bocholt worth 100 euros each will be raffled among these participants.
