Well-known ARD journalist talks about the war in Ukraine in Bocholt

VHS lecture with Horst Kläuser on Wednesday, 28 September, from 7 p.m. in the Media Centre // Book your ticket now

Horst Kläuser, well-known journalist and presenter from WDR radio and ARD, will talk about the current war in Ukraine in Bocholt on Wednesday, 28 September. The event starts at 7 p.m. in the Bocholt Media Centre. Registration is now open online at www.vhs-bocholt.de. Admission costs 7 euros.

On 24 February 2022, a war began just a few hours' flight from Germany. Member states of the European Union border directly on Ukraine or Russia. The horror of war finds its way into news magazines, talk shows, but also into family and friends' circles.

Horst Kläuser, a recognised expert on Ukraine and Russia, will talk about the war in the heart of Europe from a journalistic perspective. Kläuser first worked as an ARD correspondent in Washington from 1996 and then in Moscow and Kiev from 2002 to 2017.

How far is it with the supposed brother states? How many double standards are there in our foreign policy? What will our future look like after this war or will we have to get used to war on Europe's external borders? These and other questions will take centre stage.

The lecture evening is being organised by the Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre. Enquiries about the event can be made on 02871 953-697.
