VHS takes positive stock at the start of the semester
Many registrations have been made // Further registrations possible
Registration for the new programme 2023/1 of the Adult Education Centre Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg has been open for a fortnight. The new semester starts on 30 January 2023 and the VHS is taking positive stock. Registrations are possible on an ongoing basis.
More than 3300 registrations have already been received for the start of the semester. With almost 480 events in Bocholt, Rhede and Isselburg, online and at external teaching locations, the VHS offers a diverse range of further education for different interests and target groups in the first half of 2023.
Together with Fabi Bocholt and Omega e.V., the VHS will start the year on 31 January 2023. For this purpose, the Fabi invites you to its premises for the opening of the semester with the topic "What is a life worth living? Food for thought on the debate about 'self-determined, dignified living and dying'" under the direction of Erika Feyerabend and Barbara Schmitz. Registration is only possible through the Fabi.
Other top-class and impressive lectures on various topics will follow during the semester. The offers in the creative, health and language areas are very popular. The offer of telephone course counselling on foreign languages has met with great popularity and is thus a much sought-after service of the VHS. "It is wonderful to see that the participants are waiting enthusiastically for the events to start and express their joy to the VHS team. We are very happy to create opportunities to live out and develop interests, to gain new experiences, to make first discoveries and to travel to other worlds," reports Isabel Testroet, Business Unit Manager of the VHS. There is also great interest in the established series of events "Bocholt liest" (Bocholt reads), which has become an integral part of the cooperation between the VHS and the municipal library with other partners. "Promoting the joy of reading not exclusively through one's own reading, but through encounters with people from the world of literature and maintaining it in different ways is a great concern of ours. Therefore, we are very pleased that our participants have taken to the carefully thought-out offers so well and that some events were already fully booked shortly after the start of registration," Testroet continues. With Andreas Winkelmann's "The Last Thing You Hear" and Christine Westermann's "The Families of Others - My Life in Books", VHS and the municipal library are presenting real top-class authors.
Perennial favourites such as courses in IT, cooking, energy, health, etc. continue to be in demand and are already well booked. The VHS continues to register a significant increase in demand in the area of German and integration courses and has accordingly expanded its offer. The language consultations have been very popular and offer an individual and customised service from the VHS. "We are particularly pleased about the cooperation with the BOHRIS doctors' network and thus the health talk, which offers visitors an exchange with local doctors on specialist topics," says the VHS.
In general, not all courses start right away in the first week of the semester. Workshops, seminars, lectures, gardening trips, cycling tours, hikes and many other offers are also spread over the next weeks and months. "So there is still a diverse selection of offers and many registration opportunities at the moment. It's always worth taking a look at the programme and checking the homepage for the latest information," says the VHS. If you look online at the VHS homepage (www.vhs-bocholt.de), you can also find out where there are still free places. Alternatively, personal advice is available at the VHS office, in the Rhede and Isselburg branches or by telephone on 02871-953 697.
