VHS lecture: The health of the eye

The next lecture in the new "Gesundheitstalk" series is scheduled for Wednesday, November 30. Dr. med. Frederike Dörner will speak on the topic "At a glance: The health of the eye in young and old". Venue is the media center Bocholt, Hindenburgstr. 5. The entrance is free, beginning is at 19:30 o'clock. This information series is a cooperation between the adult education center and Ärztenetz BOHRIS e.V..

Registration for seat reservation is possible via the VHS homepage(www.vhs-bocholt.de). The lecture can also be attended spontaneously.

The ophthalmology specialist in Bocholt reports on common eye diseases, their symptoms, warning signs and treatment options. Eye diseases exist at any age. At what point are screenings, preventive examinations and advanced diagnostics useful? Early childhood strabismus, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and corneal and retinal diseases can be detected early by an ophthalmologist and then often treated well. Tear film disorders (dry eyes) are also a common reason to consult an ophthalmologist. Interesting facts, experiences and recommendations will be followed by a Q&A session.

About the "Gesundheitstalk" series

The speakers are involved in the lecture series on a voluntary basis. Therefore, the lectures are offered free of charge. However, a donation is gladly accepted at the lecture evenings, which will benefit a charitable organization in each case. On this evening, it is intended for the Deutsche Blindenhilfswerk e.V. (German Aid Society for the Blind).
