VHS Lecture: From the Hitler Putsch to the Seizure of Power

Wednesday, 29 March at 7:30 pm // Media Centre // Registration requested // Admission 7 euros

Sociologist Dr Torsten Reters talks about how Hitler came to power and about the psyche and mentality of dictators and "their" people.

On Wednesday, 29 March 2023 at 7.30 pm, sociologist and non-fiction author Dr Torsten Reters will speak at the VHS Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg about Hitler's path to power: How did a penniless postcard painter become a dictator who dragged the whole world into the abyss? What psychological imprints and social conditions created the preconditions for such a career? With the help of numerous historical film documents and psychological interpretations, we will try to get a picture of Hitler and his time in order to understand his unprecedented rise. A look at the present (populism, conspiracy theories, Putin) will round off the evening.

The lecture will take place in the Media Centre. For better planning, the Adult Education Centre asks for registration at www.vhs-bocholt.de or during opening hours at the VHS office, Stenerner Weg 14a in Bocholt. Tickets are also available at the box office for 7 euros.
