Training course successfully completed

VHS organised a new type of qualification for child day care for the first time

Eight participants have now been trained to become "qualified childminders". The course was organised by the adult education centre (VHS) for the first time.

For the first time, the adult education centre (VHS) carried out the new and extended qualification measure on behalf of the youth and family department of the city of Bocholt. In the Borken district, apart from the VHS Bocholt, only the VHS Ahaus is recognised as an educational institution for training in accordance with the Quality Manual (QHB) by the Federal Association for Child Day Care based in Berlin.

The examination participants Desiree Weißing, Attika Baseer-Khan, Vera te Laar, Resi Kappenhagen, Madona Attalla, Meike vom Schemm, Miriam Tüshaus and Michelle Alck are delighted with the graduation ceremony and the presentation of the certificate together with the team of instructors Nadine Intven, Melanie Ostendorf and Ulrike Wegener (left in the picture). In addition to the "qualified child day carers", also pictured on the right are the specialist advisors Hannah Eisenbarth from the city of Bocholt, Stephanie Niewerth from the Borken district, Isabel Testroet, head of the VHS and Rabea Seelig, training officer for child day care at the VHS.

In addition to the 300 hours of theoretical instruction, the graduates have completed two internships, written their concept and successfully completed two learning outcome assessments. Child day care is a legally recognised form of care in a family environment for children under the age of three and, in terms of quality requirements and standards, is on a par with care in a child day care facility or a day care centre. The next course starts on 7 October with an intensive week, after which classes will be held every Tuesday evening.

Anyone interested in the qualification can find out more about training modalities, entry requirements and cost coverage options at the planned information evenings on Wednesday, 13 March or Monday, 10 June at 7 pm at the VHS Sprachenzentrum, Isselburger Str. 64 in Bocholt. Registration for the information evening is required at the VHS office in Bocholt, Stenerner Weg 14 a, at the Rhede and Isselburg branches or online at www.vhs-bocholt.de.
