Literature and music festival at the end of the Intercultural Week
Friday, 27 September, 7 pm at LernWerk Bocholt // Admission free
To mark the end of this year's Intercultural Week in Bocholt, a festive supporting programme will be held on Friday, 27 September from 7 p.m. in the LernWerk event hall, Industriestraße 1. In cooperation with the adult education centre (VHS) Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg, the integration office of the city of Bocholt, the family education centre Bocholt and the Caritas Association Bocholt, people from different cultures and nations will contribute to the success of this extraordinary evening.
"It's an old saying that music brings people together. When stories are also told, the mixture is perfect", Bruno Wansing, Integration Officer for the city of Bocholt, is certain. A mixture of literary and musical performances characterises the festival, which officially closes the Intercultural Week in Bocholt. Ulrik Störzer from the Family Education Centre and Fatma Boland from the VHS will lead the evening. During a break and after the official part, there will be an opportunity to chat over finger food and drinks. Admission is free.
Programme
- Erza Halili, Katharina Giesing and Nélia de Sá: The three pupils from Mariengymnasium present their view of life in poetic form. All of the texts are written by the students themselves and take unexpected twists and turns that will surprise the audience. The reading will be accompanied by music from Lucy Prooi on the cello.
- Rainer Heeke, Wies Kuyers and Dominica Eyckmans: A poem by Christian Morgenstern is the starting point for their performance. The European performance trio (Germany-Belgium-Netherlands) denounces the loss of humanity in Europe, which in their opinion is increasingly characterised by isolation rather than the necessary openness.
- Moses Breuer: The multi-instrumentalist and singer is active in a wide variety of genres. He has had a great passion for music and languages since childhood and has mastered an international repertoire ranging from Brazilian bossa nova to Japanese folk songs.
- Tetiana and Tatiana: When two musicians full of passion meet, a very special magic is created that casts a spell over the audience. They share a friendship that is also reflected in the way they perform their music.
- Outta Basement: This newly founded formation shares more than just a passion for music. The quartet, consisting of Simon Halwaß (vocals+piano), Matthias Wigger (drums+vocals), Selin Özdemir (cello) and William Al Akrad (acoustic guitar), impresses with strong vocals and sensitive musical accompaniment.
