After 23 years in the service of the city of Bocholt, Heike Schoo is retiring. She had been in the service of the city of Bocholt since 1990 and had been the head of the city archive since 2015.

Heike Schoo, a versatile and committed head of the City Archive, is officially retiring at the end of the month. In August 1990, she joined the VHS as a full-time educational assistant and from then on made adult education entirely her business.

From 1998 to 2010, she took on the role of VHS director and was also involved in voluntary work, among other things in the German-French Society Bocholt, of which she was president from 1995 to 2021. In 2010, she became head of the Department of Culture and Education and held this position for five years.

In the city archive, from 2015 onwards she was responsible, among other things, for the publication of the city history "Bocholt in the 20th century - a city on new paths", which appeared on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the city of Bocholt.

Heike Schoo is described by her colleagues as level-headed and calm, with a qualitatively excellent and sustainable way of working. She has always maintained the external image of the city archive at a high level of quality and has been prudent and multifaceted in her work.
