Free online lecture on Russian-Ukrainian relations
Offer of the VHS
The Adult Education Centre invites you to a free online lecture with historian Prof. Ricarda Vulpius on Thursday, 16 February. It starts at 7 pm.
In justifying his war of aggression, Vladimir Putin resorted to a narrative that Ukraine had always been part of Russia. This narrative has roots that go back to the 17th century. In her lecture, historian Prof. Ricarda Vulpius will shed light on the genesis of the narrative and provide an overall introduction to Russian-Ukrainian relations from the early modern period to the present day.
Ricarda Vulpius is Professor of Eastern European History at the University of Münster. Her research focuses on Russian imperial history and the history of Ukraine and its interconnections.
Please note: This course will only take place online. You will receive your access data from the VHS Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg after registration, usually one day before the course begins.
