Lecturer Britta Günther explains the most important basics of first aid for your own dog.First aid for dogs
VHS Bocholt offers practical seminar
What should I do if my dog is suddenly in distress? What should I do in the event of heatstroke, poisoning or an accident? Answers to these and many other questions can be found in a special first aid seminar for dog lovers, which the Bocholt Adult Education Centre (VHS) is offering on Saturday, 13 September, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the LernWerk (Industriestraße 1).
Under the expert guidance of instructor Britta Günther, participants not only learn the most important theoretical principles, but also practise them in practice. This includes the correct positioning of the dog, measures for transport to the vet and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which is practised on a dog dummy.
The seminar provides confidence in dealing with typical emergencies: from severe bleeding injuries and insect bites to shock or the ingestion of foreign bodies. The aim is to keep calm in an emergency and take the right steps quickly.
The participation fee is 44 euros including material costs. The course is also suitable as recognised further training for breeders and boarding kennel operators.
Registration is possible online at www.vhs-bocholt.de or directly at the VHS office in the LernWerk.
