"Bar-Camp": Creative conference at LernWerk

The Bar Camp took place this week, with over 45 municipalities and artists taking part. The first network meeting of the supra-regional Stadt.Land.Bühne network was organised as part of this open creative conference at LernWerk.

The creative network has set itself the goal of connecting independent artists from Münster with cities and municipalities in the Münsterland region and exploring possible collaborations. Bocholt acted as a pilot city during the creation of the network with four other cities, and three performances of Stadt.Land.Bühne took place here in 2024.

The first network meeting was organised in cooperation with Burg Hülshoff, Center for Literature. In contrast to traditional conferences, no strict programme is defined in advance as part of a bar camp; instead, the participants take an active role in running the creative conference.

Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff and Angelika Weide, Head of Cultural Affairs at the district government, also took part in the event. Thomas Kerkhoff welcomed the participants to the workshop and then introduced the LernWerk as part of the Kubaai cultural and educational quarter.

The poetic event "(Ge)Dicht an die Nacht" organised by Stadt.Land.Bühne will take place in Bocholt on 19 July 2025. Starting at 8.30 pm, members of the Stadtensemble Münster will recite selected poems by the light of candles and torches in the surroundings of the Bocholt Strandcafé. Poems on the theme of "Night" can be sent by email to info(at)stadtlandbuehne(dot)de for the event until 10 July, either your favourite poems or your own poetry.
