"80 years of the end of the war and a new beginning" - Exhibition is extended

Exhibition about the post-war period in Bocholt continues until Sunday, 8 June 2025 // Free admission

Due to the great interest, the exhibition "80 years end of war and new beginning" will be extended. It can be visited free of charge at LernWerk until 8 June. In addition, two guided tours are offered, registration is not required.

With the exhibition "80 Years of the End of the War and a New Beginning in Bocholt", the city archive and the Bocholt City Museum provide an insight into the year 1945. The war and the end of the war are thematised on the basis of four subject areas with a view to the associated hardship of Bocholt's citizens. The changes in social and democratic life and the newly developed border relations with the Netherlands are also presented.

The exhibition shows historical artefacts in the form of documents, objects, interviews with contemporary witnesses and film footage. To accompany the extension of the exhibition, two public guided tours will also be offered in the foyer of the first floor of the LernWerk (Industriestraße 1):

  • Tuesday, 3 June 2025 at 9 a.m.
  • Thursday, 5 June 2025 at 4 pm

All interested parties are cordially invited. Admission is free, registration is not required.
