World Children's Day 2025 in Bocholt: Join in, be amazed, celebrate!
Colourful day of action on 19 September also opens Intercultural Week
On Friday, 19 September 2025, the city of Bocholt, together with numerous partners, invites you to a big day of action on the occasion of World Children's Day from 3 pm to 6 pm. The event will take place on the grounds of St Joseph's Grammar School (Kapu). World Children's Day also marks the ceremonial start of Intercultural Week, which will continue until 26 September with a variety of events.
The day of action is organised by a broad network of Bocholt institutions and associations that are committed to children. Among others, family centres, day care centres, the Child Protection Association, the Family Education Centre, the Music School, the Kapu, the Young Community, UNICEF, various departments and educational institutions of the city of Bocholt as well as many other cooperation partners are taking part.
Visitors can look forward to numerous hands-on stations. Exercise and creative activities, a bouncy castle, bungee jumping and a wheel of fortune invite you to play and try things out. Admission is free and all activities can be used free of charge. The stage programme is also colourful and varied: musical contributions from the string ensemble and the children's early musical education, performances by the Jekits and Jekiss groups and the children's musical from the Bocholt-Isselburg music school will provide entertainment, as will the cheerdance performance by the Peewees from TuB Bocholt, the clay ninjas from Bischof-Ketteler-Schule and the impressive movement acrobatics of the group "The Jokers" from Kapu.
Under the motto "Children's Rights - Building Blocks for Democracy", the German Children's Fund and UNICEF Germany are calling this year for the rights of children and young people to be included in political decision-making processes to a greater extent than in the past. The day of action in Bocholt aims to make a contribution to this and highlight the importance of children's rights.
Due to limited parking facilities, the organisers ask that you come to the Kapu by bike if possible or use the surrounding car parks.
