Remaining places for youth leader training

Training courses in November // Interested parties can register at the Youth Welfare Office by October 21.

The city of Bocholt offers a training course for young people aged 16 and over for a maximum of 15 prospective youth group leaders. The training will take place from November 9-11 and from November 25-27 from Friday to Sunday. There are still places available. Those interested can register at the youth office with Nicole van Baal at 02871 953-525 or email nicole.vanbaal(at)bocholt(dot)de. Deadline is October 21.

A maximum of 15 people aged 16 and over can take part in the practical and entertaining youth leader training. The instructor is Willi Misters, an experienced media educator and trainer for adult education in the areas of communication, games and experiential education.

The course comprises 40 teaching units with the following contents:

  • Supervision, liability and insurance
  • Group dynamic processes
  • Youth protection
  • Accident prevention
  • Leadership styles and moderation techniques
  • Planning and implementation of activities
  • Public relations
  • Play pedagogy
  • Self-image as a leader/authority of the leader
  • Child endangerment/Federal Child Protection Act

The extensive training enables the trained youth group leaders to lead youth groups responsibly as well as independently in the future. This applies to group lessons as well as to youth recreation measures and vacation games.

The youth leader training is, apart from the proof of the completion of the first aid course, a condition for the issue of the youth leader card (JuLeiCa, www.juleica.de). The Youth Leader Card is the nationwide standardized ID card for volunteers in youth work. It serves as legitimation and proof of qualification. In addition, the youth leader card is intended to express social recognition for volunteer work.
