Kick-off workshop at the youth welfare office // Prevention chain to be optimised
The city of Bocholt, the supporting associations, organisations and facilities in Bocholt have now launched the "kinderstark - NRW schafft Chancen" campaign with a joint kick-off workshop. The aim is to optimise the prevention chain in order to improve the social infrastructure in Bocholt. "kinderstark" is a programme of the NRW Ministry of Family Affairs.
2,275 childcare places for children over 3 years // 712 childcare places for children under 3 years
For the kindergarten year 2024/25, 3,321 childcare places are available in Bocholt, spread across 40 daycare centres and supported by daycare. According to statistical forecasts, the demand for childcare will continue to rise in the coming years. The city of Bocholt will therefore continue to increase childcare capacity.
You can now independently lead group lessons, holiday games and holiday camps
Bocholt is delighted to welcome fourteen new youth leaders. They took part in a special training course organised by the city of Bocholt. In future, the graduates will be able to lead youth groups on their own responsibility. This applies to group lessons as well as youth recreational activities and holiday games.

For the upcoming carnival season, especially the Rose Monday parade, the city of Bocholt is once again focussing on the issue of underage drinking and reminding everyone to keep an eye on the protection of minors amidst all the hustle and bustle.

A new ten-member Youth Welfare Office Parents' Advisory Board (JAEB) has now been elected. The JAEB sees itself as a mouthpiece between the youth welfare office and parents in all of Bocholt's childcare centres. In addition to the Youth Welfare Office, the JAEB also liaises between the providers, such as churches and clubs, and the parents.
