Damaged mini-pitch at Euregio Gymnasium to be closed off

The mini artificial turf pitch on the street "In der Hardt" (at the Euregio Gymnasium) has to be closed due to damage. The artificial turf surface must be completely renewed, according to the city of Bocholt.

Use of the municipal artificial turf mini pitch on the street "In der Hardt" at the Euregiogymnasium, which is basically open to the public, is no longer possible with immediate effect. The reason for this is damage to the artificial turf surface.

The artificial turf surface of the pitch, which was built in 2008 and has been very heavily used ever since, is getting on in years. During an inspection by the employees of the waste disposal and service company (ESB), who are responsible for the maintenance of the surface, it was discovered that large sections of the surface, which was already worn in many places, had come loose. This creates a risk of injury that leaves no other decision than immediate closure.

It is assumed that the artificial turf surface must be completely renewed so that unrestricted use is possible again - this is now being examined by the city.
