Juvenile Justice Services

The juvenile court is responsible for juveniles and adolescents (14 - 20 years) who have committed a criminal offence .

The juvenile court assistance is obliged by law to offer counselling to every juvenile and adolescent who has committed a criminal offence. Their task is to sit down with the accused and find out in the talks how the offence could have happened. To do this, it is also necessary to get to know and assess his family, friends, school or professional situation.

At the same time, the juvenile court assistance can advise the parents on parenting problems .

The youth court assistance is an independent body that has the task of identifying and explaining even complicated problems. The youth court workers also explain the course of a possible court hearing to the person concerned and his or her family.

The staff members attend the main hearing and suggest to the court which measure seems most suitable to enable the young person or adolescent to lead a crime-free life in the future. They also initiate and control the measures imposed by the juvenile court. The juvenile court assistants are interlocutors for the juvenile and his family before, during and also after the juvenile court hearing. They continue to help with difficulties that arise from the whole matter with the employer and at school. If a juvenile detention or a juvenile sentence is served, they help the young person reintegrate into school, work and the family.

In addition to the opening hours, the youth court assistance team offers open consultation hours:

  • Café Karton youth centre (Thursdays)
  • Youth Club "Leo" (Tuesdays)
