From home to a new beginning: dance theatre at the LernWerk

On Sunday 11 October, Karyna and Dmytro Borodii will use dance to tell the story of their lives before the war, their escape and their new beginning at the LernWerk. Their dance theatre piece "Our Journey" forms part of the supporting programme for the special exhibition "Heavy Steps: Bocholt Stories of Flight and New Beginnings". Both performances can be combined with a guided tour of the exhibition.

Eleven-year-old Mahito is mourning the loss of his mother and finds himself transported to a magical world via a mysterious tower.

Personal impressions, photographs and historical context will be the focus of a talk organised by the Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre on Thursday, 8 October, at 6.30 pm at the LernWerk. Karl-Heinz Nelskamp from Dingden will talk about his visit to the Auschwitz I and Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial sites. Admission is free.
