FW Bocholt: Tractor in full fire

The Bocholt Fire Brigade and the Brandweer Alten were alerted with the keyword "vehicle fire", today at 11:53 am to Hamalandstraße (L602) in Holtwick, near the Dutch border. Due to the rural area, an additional auxiliary fire engine was manned by the Bocholt Volunteer Fire Brigade.
Already on the approach, a strong and dark smoke development could be seen.
When the Bocholt fire brigade arrived, the tractor was in full fire and the Aalten fire brigade had initiated the first extinguishing measures.
The fire was extinguished by 3 fire brigades under heavy breathing protection and 3 C-jet pipes and covered with a foam carpet to prevent the fire from starting again.
The driver of the tractor was able to leave the vehicle on his own and remained uninjured.
The fire brigade of Bocholt, the fire brigade of Aalten and the rescue service were on the scene for about 2.5 hours with about 26 firefighters and 8 vehicles.

While the incident was still in progress, there was a parallel fire incident with the keyword "home smoke alarm" on Horststraße. This was a false alarm.
The basic protection was ensured at the fire station by other forces of the volunteer fire brigade for the city area.
