Preparations for the European Youth Camp in full swing

Youth Camp from 16-22 July 2023 // Theme "Climate and Environment" // For young people between 14 and 17 years of age

On the weekend of 24 March to 26 March 2023, the preparatory meeting for the European Youth Camp took place in the Europa-Haus Bocholt. This summer, young people from Bocholt and the friendly and twin towns of Bocholt will again have the opportunity to exchange ideas. This year's youth camp for young people aged 14 - 17 will take place from 16 to 22 July 2023. The one-week encounter will focus on the themes of "climate and environment".

Youth leaders and young people from the twin towns of Bocholt (Belgium) and Aurillac and Arpajon-sur-Cère (France) came to the Europa House. Teammates from the twin towns of Rossendale (Great Britain) and Akmene (Lithuania) as well as from the friendly town of Vlora (Albania) joined them online.

Exchange in a relaxed atmosphere

The weekend started with a casual "meet & greet" round. In the evening, there was an introduction to the European Youth Camp in the summer. The theme "Youth for the Future: Best Practices for Climate Change in Europe" was introduced and followed by a short input presentation on key developments in climate change.

Preparation of the camp

On Saturday, the participants present and those connected online exchanged ideas about the programme. They decided on various programme points in line with the camp's motto. Then they discussed how to make the youth camp as climate-friendly as possible. Afterwards, the participants visited all the locations of the programme in order to get an idea of the exact schedule for the summer. At the end of the weekend, the organisers from Bocholt distributed various tasks to ensure that the exchange in the summer goes well.

Young people from Bocholt wanted

Young people from Bocholt between the ages of 14 and 17 can still register for the European youth camp.
