German-British Society travels to Rossendale

Preliminary meeting on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in the restaurant "Zur Glocke" // Interested citizens can participate

The German-British Society Bocholt is planning a trip to the English twin town Rossendale at the beginning of the autumn holidays 2023. The trip is scheduled after the visit of the British partner association "Friends of Bocholt" to this year's Bocholt Autumn Fair. Therefore, the society invites all members and interested citizens to a preliminary meeting on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in the restaurant "Zur Glocke". Start is from 19 o'clock.

In the English twin town the accommodation takes place in host families. In addition to the exchange with the "Friends of Bocholt", there is also the possibility to get to know the closer surroundings of Rossendale.

Costs increase for trip to the twin town

In the past the trip to Rossendale was organized by the German-British Society by bus and ferry. Next year, the travel option is still open.

"The prices for bus and ferry, alternatively also the flight costs, have increased enormously. We would like to determine the number of people interested in the Rossendale trip, so that we have an early overview of costs and can plan better," says Andreas Becker, chairman of the German-British Society Bocholt.

Grants from the city of Bocholt

The city of Bocholt supports visits to the friendly and twin towns with 25 euros per person. Also with the present Rossendale trip the city administration will provide these subsidies, in order to reduce at least a little the costs.
