Aid transport for Ukrainian schools and children as part of the solidarity partnership
On Sunday, 12 April 2026, German and Ukrainian helpers from the association "Helfende Hände St. Josef Bocholt e. V." packed an extensive humanitarian aid transport for Verkhniodniprovsk. Around 14.5 tonnes of relief supplies are now being transported to Ukraine in a 40-tonne lorry by the Blue-Yellow Cross from Cologne.
The transport was prepared and loaded in Bocholt with great commitment. The relief supplies are destined for the people of Verkhniodniprovsk, where the war continues to put a heavy strain on everyday life. The new aid transport shows how reliable the support from Bocholt is and how close the solidarity with the Ukrainian partner community is.
Equipment for everyday school life
An important part of the delivery is school furniture, which was provided by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) from its 2025 procurement packages. The materials can be used to equip four classrooms - each with furniture, a smartboard and 26 tablets. This will provide local children and young people with better conditions for lessons in difficult times.
Donations with direct benefits
The transport also includes three Ecoflows, which were donated by the Bocholt scout group VCP Bocholt, NodAn tribe. The portable power supply systems are to be used in schools whose children took part in the national scout camp in Ratzeburg last year together with the Bocholt group. In this way, the aid from Bocholt combines concrete support with the personal contacts that have developed and the friendship that has been lived across national borders.
