Online seminar: Equal Pay!? Women earn the same as men, but they don't get it!

Monday, 6 March 2023 // 19:00 // Participation free of charge // Registration now at gleichstellung(at)bocholt(dot)de

Women in Germany still receive an unbelievable 18 percent (2021) less salary than men. This has consequences for women and is becoming an economic problem. The interactive lecture, to which the Equal Opportunities Office of the City of Bocholt cordially invites all interested women, offers sufficient space for questions and discussion.

Women in Germany still receive an incredible 18 percent (2021) less salary than men. The reasons for this are complex:

  • Women work more often in low-paid industries,
  • they are completely absent from certain professions and industries, and
  • they are underrepresented in leadership positions.

Even if couples today want to make fair and equitable decisions: Those who earn less tend to stay at home or work part-time when raising children or caring for relatives. Here, women are often left behind - with dramatic consequences for their own old-age security. Low pensions increase the risk of poverty in old age and thus also become an economic problem - and THAT concerns us all!

The interactive lecture offers enough space for questions and discussion.

Bocholt's Equal Opportunities Officer Astrid Schupp cordially invites all interested women . The event is part of the series "Frau&Beruf" (Women & Work) of the municipal equal opportunities commissioners in the district of Borken.

Please register by e-mail at the Equal Opportunities Office of the City of Bocholt at gleichstellung(at)bocholt(dot)de.
