CITY CYCLING campaign: It starts on 1 May

On Thursday, 1 May 2025, the CITY CYCLING campaign will start again in Bocholt. The campaign, in which cyclists track their kilometres and collect them for their city and region, begins just in time for the spring weather.

The city of Bocholt is calling on all residents to take part in this year's CITY CYCLING event. Last year, Bocholt achieved second place in the nationwide ranking of cities with 50,000 to 100,000 inhabitants with around 700,000 kilometres cycled by over 3,000 participants. The city is aiming to further increase these figures in 2025.

You can register for the campaign online at www.stadtradeln.de/bocholt. There, interested parties can join an existing team or set up their own team. The kilometres cycled can be recorded either via the CITY CYCLING app or manually on the website.

"Simply ditch the car for the journey to work or the weekend tour and get on your bike - that's what it's all about", says Bocholt's mayor Thomas Kerkhoff. And the campaign also promotes a sense of community. "Those who take part not only collect points for their own team - all kilometres cycled also contribute to the overall result for the city of Bocholt", says Kerkhoff.

In addition to the positive effect on health and the environment, the most active cyclists can win attractive prizes. Further information and the opportunity to register can also be found on the city's website.
