Visit to the wild horses in Westmünsterland
VHS Bocholt invites you to a wild horse excursion to the Merfelder Bruch
Fascinating nature observation for young and old: On Friday, 12 September, the Bocholt Adult Education Centre (VHS) is offering an excursion entitled "A visit to the wild horses" from 16:30 to 18:00. The meeting point is the wild horse track in Dülmen on Rekener Straße (L600).
Participants have the rare opportunity to experience a herd of more than 300 wild horses in their natural habitat. Particularly impressive are the lively foals that enliven the picture of the peacefully grazing animals. Although they are called "wild horses", the animals do not display any aggressive behaviour. Instead, they live freely, follow their instincts and have to cope with the weather and food supply on their own.
The excursion will be led by forestry inspector Friederike Rövekamp, who will provide fascinating insights into the life of wild horses and explain the special features of the Merfelder Bruch. Questions about horses are also very welcome.
Participation costs 10.50 euros, which includes admission and the guided tour. Families receive a discount. Children can take part from the age of six.
Further information and registrations can be made online at www.vhs-bocholt.de or directly at the VHS office in the LernWerk.
