120 new trees for Bocholt: City favours climate-resistant species

The waste disposal and service company (ESB) is currently planting a total of 120 new trees in the Bocholt city area. These are to replace plants that have died in recent years due to disease or weather conditions.

The selected species include oaks, ash trees, magnolias and maples, which are known for their resilience to various climatic challenges.

The ESB uses watering rings to effectively irrigate the newly planted trees. These enable a targeted and efficient supply of water directly to the roots, which creates optimum growth conditions and minimises the amount of maintenance required.

The trees are also planted in a specially selected substrate or topsoil to promote growth and are given slow-release fertiliser to ensure a continuous supply of nutrients.
