Author Christiane Wünsche's debut novel "Aber Töchter sind wir für immer" was an instant bestseller. Now the Westphalian-born author is presenting her second novel "Heldinnen werden wir trotzdem sein" at the Bocholt Public Library. Like her first novel, it is set in her adopted hometown of Kaarst, on the Lower Rhine. There, reality meets fiction. The themes, however, could not be more real. Five friends: Susanne, Helma, Ellie, Ute and Marie have been close since their youth. The death of a mutual friend makes them think: about their lives, their decisions, about loyalty and their memories, which write their very own stories.
A novel that makes you think
The result is a moving story about friendship, loyalty and moral courage. The author takes her readers into the world of her characters' thoughts and feelings in a calm and sensitive way, dealing with difficult topics such as suicide and grief. It is a novel that is thought-provoking and provides surprising inspiration.
The reading is supported by the bookstore Seitenblick and the association and supporters of the Adult Education Center Bocholt Rhede Isselburg and the Bocholt City Library. The 2G+ regulation applies to the admission.
