City of Bocholt expands its digital offering // "OverDrive" with associated Libby app
The city of Bocholt is expanding its digital services at the city library and is now offering another platform for eBooks and eAudios. Via the provider OverDrive, all library customers now have the opportunity to use a large selection of eBooks and digital audio books.
This includes numerous media from trend areas such as "New Adult" or "BookTok", but also crime novels and much more. The aim of the new service is to provide library users with broad access to digital media in English.
As part of the new "OverDrive Münsterland" network, which includes a total of 13 libraries from the region, Bocholt City Library is delighted to be able to offer a wide range of media so that there is something for everyone. "Our new digital offer is of course perfect for all those who don't want to wait for the German publication date and want to read the English edition in advance", says Marita Wormland from the city library. "But anyone who wants to improve their language skills through reading will also find a wide range on offer in OverDrive".
"If you like reading or listening, you can now also find something suitable in English and conveniently digitally", says Bocholt's First City Councillor Björn Volmering. The new offer makes the city library even more attractive for everyone "who is curious about language, stories and new perspectives", says Volmering.
By expanding its digital portfolio, Bocholt City Library is also emphasising its role as a modern educational institution that promotes access to knowledge and culture in the digital world.

The media can be conveniently accessed via various devices such as smartphones, tablets, PCs or eReaders and offer a practical alternative to physical books and audio books. The service can be accessed via the OverDrive online portal or the user-friendly Libby app. Users can simply log in with their library card, borrow media and then enjoy them on their favourite device - whether at home or on the go.
The digital service is free of charge with a valid library card from Bocholt City Library. Anyone interested who is not yet a library member can easily register online or on site.
