New service: The "parcel station" for ID documents

Document issue box in the foyer of Stadtsparkasse Bocholt // Receive PIN by SMS

Citizens can now collect ID documents flexibly, securely and contactlessly from a new document issue box in the foyer of Stadtsparkasse Bocholt on Neutorplatz. With this new service, the city of Bocholt is taking a further step towards digital administration.

The document issue box works in a similar way to a parcel station and makes it possible to conveniently collect ID cards and passports outside the regular opening hours of the citizens' office.

The box is located in the foyer of the main branch of Stadtsparkasse Bocholt, Neutorplatz 1, and is accessible daily from 5 am to 11 pm.

When applying for a document at the Citizens' Office, citizens can voluntarily opt for contactless collection via the new box. As soon as the document is made available by the Public Order Department, applicants will receive a text message with a personal collection code. Use is barrier-free, as lower compartments can be accessed if required. Old ID documents are automatically cancelled when they are collected.

The issue box is a joint project of the city of Bocholt and Stadtsparkasse Bocholt and is part of the digital transformation of municipal services. The aim is to further improve citizen service, avoid waiting times and enable flexible collection times.

"We are delighted to be able to make a small contribution to expanding the range of services offered by the city of Bocholt", says Karl-Heinz Bollmann, CEO of Stadtsparkasse Bocholt. "The new service combines modern technology with the aim of making the everyday lives of Bocholt's residents noticeably easier", says Bocholt's mayor Thomas Kerkhoff.
