As an emergency paramedic, you are the first medical professional on the scene. You care for emergency patients directly on site and in the ambulance - sometimes in life-threatening situations. What you can expect:
A high-quality, three-year training programme with an optimal combination of theory and practice
Vocational training consists of theoretical and practical lessons as well as practical training. The theoretical lessons are taught at the Bocholt Fire and Rescue Service Academy. The practical training is carried out at suitable training rescue centres and hospitals.
The theoretical and practical lessons cover the following topics, among others:
Recognising, recording and assessing emergency situations involving people of all ages and dangerous situations
Selecting, implementing and evaluating rescue service measures
Communicating with people seeking and in need of help
Life-sustaining measures until the emergency doctor arrives
Practical training at the rescue centre includes the following tasks:
Duty at a rescue station
Carrying out and organising emergency rescue operations
Practical training in hospitals includes the following functional areas:
Nursing department
Emergency admission
Anaesthesia and operating theatre department
Psychiatric department
