Opening of the 6th International Nativity Scene Tour
Invitation to the Advent and Christmas carol singing at the Dorpskerk Dinxperlo
On Sunday 17 December, all participants and especially families are invited to come to the opening ceremony of this year's Nativity Scene Tour from 4 pm at the central Dorpskerk and the Kerkelig Centrum in Dinxperlo.
The Achterkoeker Midwinterhoorn group, the trombone choir of the Protestant Reformed parish of Suderwick and a group from the former Prinses Beatrix Fanfare koor from Breedenbroek will be playing popular international Advent and Christmas carols for everyone to sing along to.
The opening ceremony of the 6th International Dinxperwick Nativity Scene Tour is made possible by the Germany-Nederland Interreg programme and co-financed by the European Union. The Ondernemerfonds Dinxperlo, the participating municipalities, banks and the parish of St George are also supporting this exemplary project of international, ecumenical, civic cooperation.
Last year, the first such event took place on the village square in Suderwick with the participation of the mayors of both municipalities, the Isselburg brass band, Pastor Hembrock, the Midwinterhoorn brass band and the nativity scene committee. Mayor Stapelkamp was already hoping for a repeat in Dinxperlo this year.
Warm drinks and Christmas biscuits will be offered to accompany the mayors' welcoming speeches. There will also be a small creative programme for children to get them in the mood for the festive season and a visit to the more than 100 nativity scenes at 54 locations in Suderwick, Dinxperlo, Anholt and Breedenbroek.
From Tuesday 12 December, residents of the participating towns will receive a flyer with this year's route in the weekly newspaper "de Band". Further flyers will be available in many local businesses and shops. Information can also be obtained using the QR code on the posters, which provides all the information at www.dinxperwick.info.
The tour also includes the popular bunny search game, in which many valuable prizes will be raffled off again in a public draw at 6 pm on 17 January in the Michaelstreff.
