Integration Award: Apply until 15 June
Second award ceremony this year // Jury has been drawn
On the recommendation of the Integration Council, the Council decided in 2022 to award an integration prize for the first time in 2023 and every two years thereafter. The second award will be presented this year. The integration prize is endowed with 2,000 euros. The application deadline will be extended until 15 June 2025.
Applications are still open to private individuals, clubs, associations, institutions, initiatives, schools, individual school classes, religious communities, citizens' initiatives, companies and legal entities that have shown outstanding commitment in Bocholt in standing up for diversity, combating discrimination, racism and disadvantage and/or promoting equal opportunities and social participation as well as the integration of people with an international family history.
"I am very pleased that the city council has agreed to our proposal to create an integration prize and that we can award this great prize for the second time this year", says Juan Lopez Casanava, Chairman of the Integration Council of the City of Bocholt.
Recognising people for their great commitment
"Every commitment to solidarity contributes to the cohesion of our society. It is great that we can now once again honour people who have shown such outstanding commitment to our community", says Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff. He is looking forward to the applications and proposals for the Integration Award, which "will once again show us the full range of support", Kerkhoff is convinced.
"This includes not only large projects from strong organisations, but also the supposedly small initiatives of individuals. Everyone is equally important to us and welcome to take part in the competition", says Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff.
Special page on the web
A special page has been set up on bocholt.de (link: www.bocholt.de/integrationspreis), where not only the award guidelines but also an online application form can be found.
After the application deadline, which is now 15 June, the jury, which was drawn at the last Integration Council meeting, will be composed. In addition to the permanent member, First City Councillor Björn Volmering, the four members of the Integration Council, Fabian Bohland, Dr Samer Ladkany, Loredana Morotti and Lutfieh Rezk Almasri, have been drawn into the jury this year.
The jury can also decide to view proposals and activities on site.
