Serhat Dogan is making a guest appearance at the LernWerk to mark the start of the VHS term

The Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre is kicking off the new term with a cabaret evening at the LernWerk. On Tuesday, 8 September 2026, comedian Serhat Dogan will be presenting his show "Lachkräfte gesucht - Best of" there. Anyone interested can still secure the remaining tickets for the event.

What happens when a Turkish man learns German through Grönemeyer songs, falls in love with a German social education worker and wants to play baseball in Saxony? With Serhat Dogan's guest performance, the Adult Education Centre is kicking off the coming course term on a humorous note. Born in Cologne and raised in Turkey, the artist explores the peculiarities of everyday life as a German-Turk in his performances. His personal experiences - from his first attempts at the language, through cultural misunderstandings, to encounters in community life - form the basis for a satirical stage show that highlights and sharply examines cultural differences.

The event begins at 7.00 pm at the LernWerk in Bocholt; doors open at 6.30 pm. Tickets are available in advance for 12 euros via the Adult Education Centre's website at vhs.bocholt.de. At the box office, the standard ticket price is 15 euros. A 50 per cent discount applies to school pupils, students and apprentices.
