Sport brings Europe together

On Saturday 25 July 2026, the focus will be on exercise, socialising and European community: from 4.30 pm, participants in the City of Bocholt's European Youth Camp invite the public to join in an hour of hands-on sporting activities in Langenbergpark. Visitors will be given a varied insight into the activities the young people have been taking part in during the camp week.

At the same time, there is an opportunity to get involved, get to know the international guests and experience the unifying power of sport together.  The European Youth Camp will take place from 19 to 26 July 2026 under the motto "Fit for Europe 2026 - Sport, Health and Cooking in the European City of Bocholt" at the Europa-Haus Bocholt. Over the course of the week, the young people will explore a healthy and active lifestyle through workshops, team games and group exercise sessions. In Langenbergpark, they will now present a selection of these sporting activities and invite guests to watch and join in.

Youth groups from Bocholt and from the twin towns of Akmenė in Lithuania, Aurillac in France, Rossendale in the UK and Huelva in Spain are taking part in this international gathering. They are joined by young people from the neighbouring Netherlands and Bocholt. Through these joint activities, the participants get to know one another across linguistic and cultural boundaries, strengthen their teamwork skills and discover things they have in common.

This public event aims to demonstrate that sport not only promotes health but also brings people together. Fair play, mutual support and working together are at the heart of the event. The town of Bocholt warmly invites all interested residents, families and, in particular, children and young people to welcome the European guests to Langenbergpark and to take part in the activities.
