VHS hands over donations to Omega Bocholt e.V.

Over a thousand euros donated as part of the series "Between departure and farewell"

Following a successful series of events entitled "Zwischen Aufbruch und Abschied" in November 2025, the Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre has now handed over two donations to Omega Bocholt e.V.

The Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre presented two donation cheques to Omega Bocholt e.V. and is delighted to support this special commitment. "It is wonderful to see how much heart and inner strength the dedicated staff at Omega put into helping people and accepting and supporting what are often very difficult life situations. It is an honour for the VHS to be able to hold a series of events with Omega", said VHS Director Isabel Testroet with delight.

The VHS is referring to the successful series "Between Departure and Farewell", which focussed on the two poles of life and death. It dealt with the span between birth and farewell, existential questions, ways of coping with grief and, above all, the commitment of dedicated individuals. "The aim must be to present institutions such as Omega to the public. The commitment shown by them is outstanding and worthy of support in every respect. The donation is only a small part, but every small contribution leads to great opportunities", emphasised Björn Volmering, First City Councillor of Bocholt, in his thanks.

Thanks to funding under the North Rhine-Westphalia Continuing Education Act and the fact that some of the speakers were working free of charge, the VHS was able to offer various events and formats free of charge or with discounted admission. Donations totalling €831.50 were collected during the series of events. In addition, the VHS offered colourful, healthy kebabs during the LernWerk open day, raising €243.80 in the process. Both donations have now been handed over to the Omega team with many thanks.
