Parking in Bocholt

The town of Bocholt is setting up a digital car park management system for the town centre. The aim is to show available parking spaces in real time and to make it much easier for residents and visitors to find a parking space.

Project description

By digitally tracking parking space occupancy, search traffic can be reduced, traffic management improved and the quality of the city centre experience enhanced.

The project forms part of the City of Bocholt's Smart City strategy and lays the groundwork for further digital mobility services.

Sensors or cameras are being installed in selected car parks to detect whether a parking space is free or occupied. The data is transmitted to a central platform, where it is processed.

The information can then be made available via digital applications, information systems and future smart city services.
