Music School: City Concert on Neutorplatz

On Saturday 12 September 2026, there will be a musical alternative to the cancelled music school festival: the brass ensemble, the youth wind orchestra and the band "Crash Out" will be providing a varied programme on Neutorplatz from 11.00 am. Admission is free, and the audience can look forward to brass band music, rock and film scores.

After the planned music school festival in Isselburg had to be cancelled in June due to the extreme temperatures, there is now some good news: the pupils at the Bocholt-Isselburg Music School will have the opportunity to showcase their musical talents to an audience after all.

Programme

The wind ensemble, conducted by Ruben van Schijndel, will kick things off. The programme includes, amongst other pieces, *Leuchtfeuer* by Kurt Gäble, *Donegal Bay* by Florian Ziller, *Les Misérables* in an arrangement by Michael Sweeney, and highlights from *Shrek 2* by Michael Brown.

This will be followed by the Youth Wind Orchestra, conducted by Gido van Schijndel, presenting a rock-inspired programme featuring 'Don't Stop Believin'', music from *Pirates of the Caribbean*, '21st Century Breakdown' and a Bon Jovi rock medley.

The music school band Crash Out will provide a special finale. The young musicians, led by Jan Schulz, will bring extra energy to Neutorplatz with their modern band sound.

The City Concert thus offers not only a replacement for the cancelled music school festival, but above all the opportunity to experience the results of the rehearsals and the musical diversity of the music school live.
