Ceremonial handover at the volunteer agency: 27 new volunteer cards

In the volunteer agency on Langenbergstraße, 27 committed citizens have now been honoured with the North Rhine-Westphalia Volunteer Card. The award was presented by Bocholt's first deputy mayor Elisabeth Kroesen and Christian Tewiele, head of the division for pensions, senior citizens, care and volunteering.

The volunteer card recognises people who make a special voluntary contribution to the common good. To be eligible for the card, you must volunteer at least five hours per week or 250 hours per year without receiving any financial compensation. The card offers discounts at numerous public and private partners throughout the country.

After a brief welcome to the guests, Bocholt's deputy mayor Elisabeth Kroesen and Christian Tewiele presented the cards to the volunteers in attendance. After the official part of the event, the guests took the opportunity to socialise over refreshments.

"On behalf of the city council and the city of Bocholt, I would like to thank you for your diverse commitment", said Kroesen. She emphasised how important voluntary work is for Bocholt's urban society.

A total of 27 people were honoured, including volunteers from associations such as Tafel Bocholt-Isselburg, Borussia Bocholt, ASB Münsterland, Kulturort Alte Molkerei, Malteser Hilfsdienst, Freiwilligenagentur Bocholt and others.
