Anniversary raffle: Mayor Kerkhoff draws winning tickets

German-British Society organized quiz for the 800th anniversary of the city

In keeping with the 800th anniversary of the city, the German-British Society Bocholt organized a competition. In April, the participants could answer a questionnaire with 15 questions about the history of Bocholt. The winners have now been drawn by Bocholt's mayor Thomas Kerkhoff.

Karl Gerd Geßner explains that the German-British Society had to cancel many of its internal events during the past Corona period. This gave rise to the idea of organizing the raffle as an alternative. "We wanted to show our members that we have not forgotten them," says the honorary chairman of the association.

"Everybody from Bocholt was allowed to take part," says Andreas Becker, deputy chairman of the German-British Society. Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff now drew the winners from the correct entries in the presence of the two chairmen.

The first three prizes go to:

  • 1st place: Franz-Josef Böing, Bocholt
  • 2nd place: Christa Beinecke, Bocholt
  • 3rd place: Janos Sobek, Essen

The first three places receive merchandise vouchers, says Becker. In addition, consolation prizes were drawn for places 4 to 20. All winners have already been informed, says Karl Gerd Geßner. The participants can then collect their prize at the European City Festival next Saturday, May 14, from 11:30 a.m. at the Rossendale stand, says the honorary chairman.
