European youth camp visits Bocholt LernWerk

Workshops, excursions and team building / Public final presentation planned for 26 July

Bocholt's first deputy mayor Elisabeth Kroesen has now welcomed the participants of the European Youth Camp organised by the city of Bocholt to the LernWerk. The young people and their chaperones come from a total of seven nations - including Rossendale (Great Britain), Akmene (Lithuania), Vlora (Albania), Wuxi (China), Verkhniodniprovsk (Ukraine) and the Netherlands. Young people from Bocholt and unaccompanied refugees who are looked after here are also taking part.

"It is a great pleasure to welcome young people from our friendly and twin towns here in Bocholt", said Elisabeth Kroesen during the reception. She briefly introduced them to the city of Bocholt and wished the participants and their accompanying youth leaders an exciting and interesting week full of enriching encounters.

The European Youth Camp will take place from 20 to 27 July 2025 at Europa-Haus Bocholt. This year's motto is "Europastadt Bocholt: Music for 80 years of peace and freedom in the year of the 75th anniversary of the EU!". The camp is organised by the city of Bocholt in cooperation with EUROPE DIRECT and the Bocholt-Isselburg music school. Other partners are also involved, such as the German-Albanian, German-British and German-Chinese Society Bocholt. The youth camp is co-financed by "ERASMUS + Youth".

The young people can expect a varied programme with interactive workshops, team building and excursions. The creative hands-on activities, musical activities and international group work will enable the young people to engage musically with peace and freedom and artistically design their own peace symbols. The city of Bocholt and its partners cordially invite you to the presentation of these results on Saturday, 26 July 2025, 5 pm, in the event room of the LernWerk Bocholt, Industriestraße 1, 46395 Bocholt. Admission is free.

The programme is rounded off with excursions to the Rock'n'Pop Museum in Gronau, a city rally in Münster - the city of the Peace of Westphalia - as well as visits to the Borken climbing forest and the Bahia fun and adventure pool. Team-building activities and an informative city rally through Bocholt also ensure fun and team spirit among the young people. EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt also organises exciting quizzes on Europe and European music. With this international youth camp, the European City of Bocholt is once again sending out a strong signal in favour of cross-border exchange and international understanding.
